It has been a trip to read up on the history of this Corps and to see it's change over the many years of its existence. I am seeing to reviving it here in Tech school as is. Aiming to build it strong enough to last a long while before I depart!!

Peace and Good Health for all
1st Lt Jerry Williams recruited me and 2nd Lt McIntosh was the next OIC. Played snare drum. Clarence Moore from Cincinnati was our Drum Sgt. Great memories of the Blue Knights. Remember seeing Jerry Lee Lewis and Etta James perform at the Airmens Club.

I played with the Drum and Bugle Corps back in 1970 when at Keesler for Morse systems training.
Just recently I joined the Tuba and Euphonium forum on-line and ran into several former Blue Knights!

I arrived from BMT (band flight, of course) sometime in May of 2000 and if I recall correctly my school lasted 6 months (AFSC: 3C0X2). During that time I played Tuba when we'd do Reville and Retreat, and I also recall having to do ruffles & flourishes for a few visiting dignitaries at one point. I left for Maxwell AFB after my short time at the base, having enjoyed the experience despite its challenges.

Pizza at Madelines in Biloxi. We made our own pizzas there.
Also looking for Sean Fogerty, he was our Guideon Carrier, and a Snare Drummer whose last name was Joos. Can't remember his first name. I introduced him to his girlfriend in Biloxi. They were getting married when I left in April of 1961.

Not much I really need.
Enjoyed marching in the Mardi Gras parade in 1961. Had a lot of enjoyable times in Biloxi. Best Trumpet player I ever met there was a guy by the name of Gordon Fraley. Played with him a couple of times in a dance band in Biloxi.

I'm really sorry to hear our history was wiped out from Hurricane Katrina. I really enjoyed that year and set me on a career in the Air Force. If you were there in 1966/1967 I was the one with the Red Triumph Spitfire, English Sports Car. I still have my rope and Blue Scarf/Bib. Best to all of you. I am retired and playing the trumpet in five different groups. If you don't play anymore drag that horn out and find a Horizon Band or other group of oldies and start playing, it's good for you and a lot of fun.
