I was in for my ten months of Tech School. We got to play at a lot of different events; we did a Mississippi Surge game, and marched in a few parades. Getting a full band was a real difficulty. I'm back at Keesler now, but in the officer tech school, so I'll have to check out there next performance.

Yep,
I was there for a few months back in the day. I banged cymbals
together, or acted as human cymbal stand whilst real drummers played
them. It was pretty fun for the most part, although they had some odd
priorities. It was cool to get the opportunity to participate in a
couple Mardi Gras parades. Not so cool raking lines/checkerboards in
the dirt on AFI.
I was there when they started to change from a stern, military band to
a college band. Don't know how far they got with that.
So, yeah, that's about it. I still remember the outfit fondly, for
whatever reason.

Very fond memories. Eventually I became "Old Man of the Corps". Now I'm just an old man. I may try to make the reunion.....can't wait to hear the details.

Bring our kiddos (troops) home!
I enlisted in the A.F. in Jan 1970 (my draft number was 55 that year) and got out from PeaseAFB in Feb of 1974, my SSC was "Flight Facilities Equip Repairman"(304x1). In January of 2009 I retired from the Federal Aviation Administration as a Air Traffic Systems Specialist of 28 years.
I joined the Blue Knights in March 1970 and in Dec 1970 where sadly I was removed from the Blue Knights when I requested to be reassigned from the fundamentals self pace program to the regular fundamentals classes...BUT... hind sight proved that this was a good career move..I played the French Horn and was also Asst. Drum Major and I still have my ropes !!!
During my time with the Blue Knights I did various local parades / retirements and I even participated in the commissioning of a submarine.. which I later worked on while being employed at the Portsmouth N.H. Naval Shipyard located in Kittery,Maine.
Hunt(Baritone) and I had a "bout" in our "swimming pool" over the name "TOP TEN" barracks...and of course Tim Tilton crashing down the hall..."BRYON" ...bay wars...ah..some really GOOD memories

I arrived in March 1973, departing for permanent duty station in December that year. I became color guard captain early that summer. We were truly one helluva group. Major fun playing football and other sports againt the KMC, whom we pretended to hate. I do have a few photos from those days. I will be sure to send copies. We did not have rifles at that time, although I really wanted to put them in and use some of the fancy drill moves that I learned with the Tennesse State University AFROTC "Tiger Jets" drill team.

Went through Hurricane Fredrick in the Corp. What a trip!! Enjoyed every minute, maybe a little too much, cause after about 2 months I failed a block and had to leave. But I still watched and admired them from the sidelines. Retired in 99 and now follow the DCI whenever close enoght to Knoxville, TN
