I was Baritone Bugle section leader during my few months at Keesler AFB. I was a stupid kid back then, just like a lot of us. Fortunately, didn't get in to too much trouble and survived one tour in the USAF.

My 2 front teeth? Is this a test?
Joined in 75, was in a bad car accident on leave in September, spent a few months recouperating and came back. What a treat to find and reconnect with some of the folks who were there! Many great memories! Retired in 98, and went to Law School, started career number 2!

I joined the Corps in late 65 and left in August of 66. It was a terrific experience where I met and fell in love with my first wife (the Corps sweetheart, Carla Waldrop). Lots of memories flooding back - the great times and the sad ones - like the night we lost Mike Stepp, John Rogers, and Dennis Warwick in a horrific accident on old route 90 between New Orleans and Biloxi. What a treat to find this site.

Just wanted to update my e-mail with hopes of connecting with friends from my time in the corp. I just saw Rick Floyd's post and sure would like to connect with him and others. I have a few old photos in addition to those i have already posted.

I can only remember the head of the drum section. His name was Joos. We went AWOL one weekend to Jacksonville to see his girl. We didn't get caught. Marched in the 1961 Mardi Gras. I had to leave the corps early because of a hand injury. Can't recall much else.

Fantastic Unit. I will never forget warming up for the Mardi Gras King Rex parade. All the other bands around did their thing then we did El' Cid and got a standing O. Best part of the whole deal. We made some tapes between the barracks ... I wonder if any of those still exist. Our commander was Lt. Jerry Smith...(?)...Bugle Sergeant was Walt Spees (sp) ... Pat DeVasher, Bob Orr and others were in the drum line. One of the guys was a reservist who had played with Hawthorn in NJ...so we were pressed forward by his experience.

Don't know what happened to the jacket...If you can get them from the Corps for a fee let me know...I would love to have another on.

Left the Corps to become an electronics instructor there at Keesler...then a year later transferred to 62nd MAC to fix radar and NavAids on the new C141's at McChord...(which are all being retire now...)

Howdy to all the other ropes.

Got it. A new 32in LCD tv for the computer room.
Was there with a Jim Criswell and Harry LeSeur. And I remember the New Orleans parade that Criswell mentioned, and yeah Pete was very smashed. lol What I hated was the sudden downpours that would ruin the starch in the uniforms for that day. Was upper 9 bay chief before we moved to the new dorms. By then I was kinda retired while I went through an extra 6 weeks of school. Great memories. See ya on Facebook.

This is great!!! I still remember marching to retreat every Thurs, and all the
great composers we had in the group at that time. Think we had 23 songs on
our menu. Great bunch of musicians.
